You'll notice that we do things pretty differently around here. Other roleplay
sites tolerate a bare minimum of words to describe actions and setting; that's
not how we work. Reading us in active roleplay gives the impression of reading a
novel. Actions take place in the past tense, objects and scenes are described in
vibrant detail, and most of the time characters are talking to one another
instead of slinging fireballs at one another. There is no minimum or maximum
post length. It is up to the writers to decide on the rhythm of their roleplay.
This is not a place where 'imagination runs wild'; your actions must make sense,
and so must the reactions of those around you (i.e. NPCs). If you are looking
for a place to push the borders of the believable and wallow in your own
personal fantasy-life, this is not the place for you. (If you're sick of
characters who spontaneously murder NPCs, begin interpretive dance performances,
and summon catastrophe for no apparent reason? Hey, this might be your site.)
Additionally, this has proven to be an amazingly great site for people new to
roleplay, but a terrible place for people who are new to the English Language.
If you're admittedly a bad poor writer, are addicted to leetspeak or txt message
shorthand, borrow whole characters and storylines from other authors, or are
lost without a Dungeon Master asking you to make saving throws every five
minutes? Please turn away now.
Are you still with us? Excellent.
A few more words of advice:
We spent a lot of time pulling together this website for you. Please read it
before asking questions.
We also ask that you consider watching some roleplay between established writers
here before diving into the muddle yourself. We can't make you pay attention and
act prudently, but we can ask you really nicely.
